Hamilton Police responded to Nottingham High School on Klockner Avenue after receiving reports of a male with a weapon walking toward the building shortly before 8:25 a.m.

The high school was put under a lockdown while Crockett Middle School was put under a shelter-in-place order, police said.

Follow-up investigations determined that the reports were unfounded and the threats were not credible.

Both schools were released from their security orders a short time later.

High School Principal Frank Ragazzo also addressed the incident in a letter to the school community that was posted on Twitter.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Det. Stacy Pollard at (609) 581-4026 or the Hamilton Police Crime Tip Hotline at (609) 581-4008.
